tew-423pi not letting ubuntu boot

when I have this card installed ubuntu won't boot. but when I take the card out I can get into the system. this is pretty frustrating. can anyone help me?

http://www.linuxquestions.org/ is another great place to ask questions with the advantage that it can sometimes handle quite old questions although i would re-post the question in there and then give a link back to the older question and ask for an ubuntu specific update and ask people for help understanding what they are talking about ! lol
