how to work web cam on Dell mini 910

 I have a Dell Mini 910 that the web cam will not work, the web cam its built in to the computer it only works with Dell chat, but I want to be able to use it with yahoo and windows live chat please help me

Have you tested it by running cheese? Which release of ubuntu have you installed?

lsb_release -c

will tell you the codename, is it the netbook remix?

ok apparently this works:

sudo modprobe uvcvideo; sudo /etc/init.d/hal restart

you should now be able to run cheese and check it works.

Great, just tell your app to use it.

If you use an app like amsn it should work fine

I have the same version of linux and I can not get any web cam to work none of the drivers are supported by linux
