Are there any tweeks for 9.04

Asked by David Jones

My system seems to be getting slugish, it takes minutes for everything to load. Is there any tweeks I can perform to make it more responsive? I have browsed the internet but dont really trust the things I found there. Would be more comfortable with info recieved here. Thank you.

Try disabling compiz. Right click on the desktop and select "change desktop backround" then go to the "visual effects" tab. Then select none.
That should speed it up a little.

Hope that helps
