I need some help

I am trying to set up Ubuntu 5.10 when sending a email I get the following message
Error while performing operation
Mail from command failed, Authentication required.
Please help

Hi there,

What is wrong is that the mail server you are using requires authentication for the sending of mail. For example, BT-Yahoo in the UK now require this

What you need to do is set up the authentication in Evolution. So you need to go:

1) Edit - Preference
2) Highlight you mail account (if not already highlighted)
3) Click Edit
4) Click on the "Sending Email" tab
5) Tick the "Server Requires Authentication" tickbox
6) Set "Use Secure Connection" to "Whenever Possible"
7) Click "Check for Supported Types"
8) Select the approprite type (step 7 will have removed all that are not applicable)
9) Enter your username
10) Tick "Remember Password"

Now try to send your email. It will ask for your mail server password, which it can save for future use.
