Disk Usage Analyzer

Asked by David Jones

I have a 60 gig hd and Disk Usage Analyzer shows only 27 gig ? Plus it shows3.3 gig used ? I really don't understand whats going on here, but it has gotten slower every day. It now take minutes to load any program. What can I do to fix this problem ? I also do not have "Partition Editor" so can't check it that way. I have ubuntu 9.04.

Install GNOME Partition Editor by typing this command in a Terminal:
 sudo apt-get install gparted

You can use it to accurately evaluate your disk usage.

Is your hard drive partitioned in to two? Check the Preferences (Edit > Preferences) in Disk Usage Analyzer and see if you have another partition left unticked.
