C++ on linux

Hi al, using Ubuntu 9.04 with al updates.

I was thinking of trying to learn C or C++, is there any such software that I can use on Ubuntu so I can learn this?
I am used to ARexx on the Amiga and AMOS.

I do not think there is any such software for ARexx for Linux is there?

If you want to program in c++ under Ubuntu, I strongly sugest netbeans.
It is a very easy to use and fully customizable IDE (intergrated develoment environment).
I learned c++ using netbeans and I found the IDE easy to understand, giving me more time to focus on learning c++.
