Composite breaks OpenGL - Fixed?!

Asked by Derek White

If the bug is reportedly fixed, and comment 24 says it's fixed in Jaunty alpha 5, then why is it not working on my system? I get the same exact result as in the OP's picture. Not to mention various video problems - highly probable to be related to the same issue.

ati/radeon driver with an RV350 (Radeon 9550)
everything at default (that means Visual Effects set to normal)

If it was fixed, why is DRI2 not activated by default, and why would ubuntu ship a product with defaults that don't work properly?

Additionally, what is UXA? I thought there was only XAA & EXA. EXA just got to be the default with Jaunty, why yet another so soon?

Blah!

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/96991

Only fixed for intel cards...launchpad has ati driver set to triaged and high priority, but no indication of who is working on it nor any progress/timeline for completion/release.
