Technically, it's possible to run L2+GameGuard in Windows XP as a VMware Player guest on Linux host. But it will be laggy (especially the mouse camera rotations), and you are still responsible for having a valid license for your guest Windows instance.

Depends on the version:

http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=application&iId=2273

Theres a mixed bag of results there from Platinum (absolutely will work) to Garbage (probably won't even install)

If the verion you propose is ok then you will need wine. The wine on the official repos is a little outdated and the wine guys have their own repo. If you follow this guide you can install Wine and hopefully run the game

The game is made for windows. Wine is a best effort attempt to run apps made for windows. It will not run all games but some run great (Doom3, DeusEX) some will install but not run (Most of the need for speed range) and others will be glitchy. You may even need to trawl the web for dll files to make an app run, or edit game config files but there are usually little bits of gold if you scroll down after you have selected a game.

Here is the guide to the wine repo. Good luck

Still laggy, yes because you running under VMware, why you don't use Wine and or Cedega (if you can buy license)?

Can you help with this problem?
