System Update in Jaunty and Sound no longer works

Asked by Schingiuire

Pretty much as the title says. After a system update in Jaunty, the sound just quit working. While, if I turn my speakers up as high as they will go, there is a whisper of sound.

If I need to give any information to help solve this problem, please let me know and explain how to get it.

Thank you.

Make sure that none of the playback streams in Volume Control are muted or on low Volume.

Also is this sound problem on any particular application(s) or everywhere ?

Everything is as high as it will go and nothing is muted.

The sound problem is on everything. Firefox, music programs, the whole system itself.

Evidently there was a checkbox of some sort not checked. I opened volume control, clicked the Switches tab, and clicked the Line in as Output checkbox. Everything seems to be working fine now.

Thank you for the help!
