update crashed on May 29th

When I ran the update on May 29th--a few days ago, the update crashed 11 min before it should have been finished. Now the new version doesn't work. When I open the new version, it sais ttp or ttg can't be find. when I run the old version. everything changed---the fond of the screen, it says no new-work manager can be found, (but the net work still work). Should I re-update, how?

Please open a terminal (Applications->Accessories). Please run the following commands:

1) sudo apt-get update
2) sudo apt-get upgrade
