                                                             Google Earth Error

Google Earth detected an error while trying to authenticate. Please check the following:
-your network connection (can you get to www.google.com?}
- your firewall settings
{are you blocking /opt/google-earth-bin?}

I launch Google Earth it starts to open then stalls. I downloaded Google Earth from www.
googleearth.com.

Are you using a Firewall between you and your internet?
if it, are you using a Proxy Server?
Did you install the Googlearth for 9.04? a tar.gz? or what?

may you check if exist /opt/google-earth-bin ? <- this is a very strange path.

Let me know please!

I am using a Linksys 2.4 GHz broad band router with a firewall & Cox cable
internet server.

I installed Google Earth from a downloaded bin file from Google's web site.
( File: googleearth-linux-plus-4.3.7284.3916.bin}.

I used Terminal to install bin file.

I was able to open the application one time using desktop icon and use it,
but after the first time it would open and then stall.
