If Ubuntu is the only OS you can simply boot to to the CD and tell it to use the entire disk. This will wipe out the installed Ubuntu and any and all data. Make sure your backups are up to date. You can then reinstall Ubuntu and all settings and data will be lost and you will get a stock, bog basic Ubuntu ready for your user data and resetting up

thanks for the answers, but this is my actual problem: how to boot from the live cd?? I have restarted (rebooted) my notebook many times with the cd in it, but nothing happens, every time I see the message for password etc.
I remember it from the first time when I used it on windows, it worked fine, I putted the cd and followed the instructions, but now there isn't any instructions, so I don't know how to boot to the cd and use the entire disk.
P.S: sorry for asking so much things folks, but I am a ubuntu newbie.
