Connecting to WPA-PSK router

Asked by gbelly

I have just installed Ubuntu 9.04. I cannot connect to a Linksys wrt54g router. The router is using wpa-psk. Ubuntu can (sometimes) see the network and identifies it as a wpa/wpa2 secured network. It accepts the network key but will not connect - similar if there was no key / incorrect key. If you show the key, it appears to convert it to hex (but I haven't checked if it's correct).

The computer and router work fine on vista.

The computer is a Dell Inspiron 1720 and the network cable is identified by Windows as Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG

The router Firmware Version: v2.02.2 (which does not appear to have wpa2).

Thanks in advance

Greg
