User/Password/Domain in the same GDM login Screen

I use ubuntu desktop in a company, joined a windows 2003 Active Directory domain, through likewise-open.
I think it would be very useful, if possible, to have a login screen similar to the windows login screen
so in the same login window i can input user-password-
user: should be "remembered" the previous user
domain : there should be a drop down menu for choosing which domain (or local)
If i remember well, opensuse (with KDE) can do that.
What you think about it ?
I use ubuntu daily in a enterprise enviroment, and there are many little things that can improve the usability.
