audigy2 works only sometimes

Hi, I have a sound blaster Audigy2 sound card it works with some things but not others. The same goes with the audio jack off the main board. It seems that when one doesn't work the other does. For instance, my 5 year old plays Potato Guy and Gcompris. Potato Guy works from the main board and Gcompris works from Audigy2. I installed a different main board and processor and used the hard drive from my old system without reinstalling ubuntu 8.04 . I didn't have the sound card installed on the other computer. I've been having a hard time finding a manual so I'm unsure if any jumper settings need changing. Thank You! tombo.

Sorry, I just typed in audigy2 and found the solution. sometimes less search words are better. I turned off ac'97 audio and it seems to work, but I don't know if the front audio port will work because that is plugged into the main board. Solved !
