User Privileges unclickable

i cannot click on the boxes inside my User Privileges tab to allow me to check the box that lets me use my wireless internet
i just got the newest version of ubuntu, and i have no idea what to do at all, please help me

You first need to hit the "Unlock" button.

1) Open System->Administration->Users and Groups
2) Click the unlock button
3) Put in your password when prompted.

You should then be able to edit anything you want regarding your user privileges.
