Boot From downloaded ubuntu CD 7.04

Asked by dabaconboy

I have just downloaded the Ubuntu desktop edition CD 7.04 supported till 2008 and standard computer selected. then chose the location and clicked download. once this has downloaded i burned it to a cd and booted it up from that.

when i got the ubuntu screen i chose the top option and let it run. after the loading style boot screen i have then been confronted with an error message saying this:

********************************
BusyBox v1.1.3 (Debian1:1.1.3-3ubuntu3) Built in shell (ash)

Enter 'help' for a list of built in commands.

/bin/sh: Cant access tty; job control turned off
(initramfs)_
********************************

I have tried running a memory test and this succeeds everytime.

also the floppy drive light is lit as if it is reading so i have disabled this and unplugged it and get the same error message.

appreciate any help.
