doom does not run in terminal

installed doom it says type doom in terminal to run game it does not run in terminal i have to double click doom icon in install folder then select run

It sounds like you didn't install it, but rather you extracted it to you home, or Desktop, or somesuch. To actually run it by simply typing doom you will need a script in your "path" to run it, ie /usr/bin/doom Their instructions should be more elaborate.
