Can I use Ubuntu?

I am currently using Win 98 and need to upgrade and was thinking about switch to a Linux based system and a friend suggested Ubuntu

my system info is as follows

For a system with your specifications I would recommend trying Xubuntu. It is designed for systems with less resources.
