video hangs when displayed through firefox

Jaunty Jackalope - when attempting to view videos from such sites as youtube.com and others the sound track seem to loose track of where it is and keeps repeating (actually sounds like an old record skipping) and the video freezes. The update manager just updated several firefox modules so I reasonably sure I have the most current version of the fox

Note: this is NOT just a youtube problem, I have the same problem with any feed.

Just for further information - I have a dsl3 connection and I do not have this problem with with my PCLOS BEL server.

Could disable desktop effects? And try again.
