GParted: No Devices detected

Ubuntu newbie here. Had an MBR error and no OS was found. Decided to install Ubuntu and wipe Windows partition. Ubuntu tests no errors. On each install, it detected my USB but does not detect my hard drive. No root file system was found. GParted: no devices detected.

Ooooops... seems to be a serious problem with your Harddisk and/or harddisk-controller.

You should take a hardware-mans help.
