Netbook Remix 9.04 Install Got Boot Error

Asked by Horatio

Downloaded Remix 9.04 to new folder on my new netbook (no CD/DVD), checked with winMD5Sum fine. Copied to flash drive so I can boot Ubuntu from it, but cannot see the file there. The file I copied was about 925MB, but it filled the 4G flash drive about 95%. Tried to read the flash drive from another machine running a different distribution Linux and couldn't see it from that one either, but file properties showed that the flash drive was almost full. Trying to boot from the flash drive, I get a boot error and nothing happens until I press a key. Any suggestions? I need to keep Windows, sadly. New to Ubuntu.

Hi!

The file you downloaded needs to be transferred to a flash drive via these softwares: Disk Imager (https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download) for Windows or Ubuntu ImageWriter (https://launchpad.net/~ogra/+archive) for Ubuntu.

I suggest you go for the Windows copy since you're using it. For more details, check this out:

This worked beautifully on my Acer AspireOne. Thanks!
