Hi,

It sounds like there might be several things wrong with your Ubuntu installation. First of all, it sounds like your Ubuntu install is booting into a non-graphical mode when you're used to booting directly into a graphical mode. When this happens unexpectedly, it is probably because of some serious problem with your system. I'd pay careful attention to any messages that show up on the screen before the login prompt you're seeing for clues.

For your permissions problem, see here:
http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/linux-newbie/27030-bash-dev-null-permission-denied-why.html

but keep in mind there are likely more problems with your installation than just the permissions on /dev/null. Good luck.

Ok. I didn't really understand what you had said, but I solved the problem by formating hard disc and fresh instalation. Now everything works fine. Thank you for your time :)
