ubuntu is not at all booting after partition format

hi

i insatalled windows XP and ubuntu in one sysytem[dual boot option] when i format the XP the ubuntu is not at all booting please help me

You installed ubuntu then formatted the xp partition? How did you format it?

thanks for repply

actually in XP o/s i was faceing some problems.so i thought of formate the Xp.when i was reinsatalling XP it asks for partion to insatll xp so i select the previous partition in which XP was installed.i did`t touch the ubuntu partiton.after reinstalling XP i din`t find Ubuntu o/s.so the system is directly booting from XP o/s.after that i have some partition tools like PQMAGIC ,VOLMAN.so when i used that tool i find their is a data in Ubunte partition.then i think
MBR is missing.please help me for solving this problem

Unfortunately reinstalling XP caused your MBR to be written over.
To restore the MBR and grub, please follow the instructions of this page:
