Uninstalling Ubuntu 9.04

Asked by Dick Quinn

I just installed Ubuntu 9.04 using the dual boot method. Now when I boot up my system and invoke the Ubuntu choice my screen goes black and will not allow me to do anything. I'd like to keep Ubuntu if I can get it to work. Can anyone diagnose my problem or failing that give me instructions for uninstalling Ubuntu and reclaiming the disk partition space ?

Many thanks !!

what is the other os you were booting? I assume XP or Vista. In either case there is a utillity to resize your partition. I've used the management service on XP pro, i don't know if it exists on home, but on vista you can just resize your partion and get the space back.

My other operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium. Does Ubuntu install disk contain an uninstall option ? Thanks for your input so far.

Can you select the recovery modus of Ubuntu and tell me, what happens then?
A black screen sound like a problem with the graphic card. Which graphic card do you have?

go to recovery mode and select the last option that is xserver in default configuration... in the next window (in fact you are having display settings enabled at very high resolution that is why getting black screen.)
Thanks
