Seems to be a million bugs regarding this:

http://www.google.co.uk/search?q=nautilus+crash+libgobject-2.0.so.0&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-GB:official&client=firefox-a

Seems like you are not alone.

Does it crash if you log in as another user? (If you dont have more than one, make one just to test)

Have you tried reinstalling nautilus? If you can find where nautilus hides its settings you can rename them to get stock nautilus settings.

Its not something I use (I use pcmanfm as its fast) but those should help a little

It seems the problem related to VirtualBox, if I install Virtual Box the desktop icons, crash.
Solved uninstalling Virtualbox
Can anyone confirm if it can be true?
