Feature suggestion: have comments on changes in Synaptic

Asked by Jenske

Using the standard update manager in Ubuntu, the user sees what changes are to be expected when updating and what these changes are about. In Synaptic, it is nog possible to see why a certain update is necessary or what the change is. For several reasons, I usually prefer using Synaptic and NOT update via the "automatic" update.

It would be usefull to add a button to allow a user to see what the changes about to be to made to the packages mean. I do not want to thumb through a list of all changes to alle Ubuntu distros and all Ubuntu programs, as I do not have all these programs of files. I just want to know what's about to be changed in my computer and why.

Not a priority, but in my opinion a welcome feature.

Thanks for your suggestion.

As this is a technical support tracker, your suggestion at this place will have no impact at all. Especially, since this is no discussion forum and no one will start a discussion about your idea.

So I'd like to encourage you to file a blueprint for Ubuntu which might lead to an improvement. So, thanks for trying to make Ubuntu better.

Please click here: https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/ to file a blueprint and do not forget to close the question. Thanks!
