lockup

Asked by Giovannino

Since installing Ubuntu 9.04 my computer randomly locks up. I am unable to move the mouse or access the command shell, it will take no input of any type and the screen freezes. This seems to happen completely randomly: sometimes while on the internet, sometimes when opening an application, sometimes when writing a document. I have to manually pull the plug and restart the computer, losing any unsaved data. This did not happen with 8.10.

Hello, Giovannino. :-)

Here are some threads on the Ubuntu Forums that might be helpful. The first link is about 8.10, but the solutions might be transferrable, and the second is about Jaunty, but the only help it gives is linking to a bug report that you might find useful.

I'm sorry I can't be of greater help, but this should start you out!
