I can print with the printer directly connected to my PC with Ubuntu, but cannot get the other Windows PCs to see the printer

Asked by Zaint

I recently changed one of my PCs to Ubuntu 10.04 and have my primary family printer connected to this PC. I can print documents just fine from this PC, but the other three Windows PCs in the house can no longer see the printer. I have published the printer and set the share settings to accept jobs, what else needs to be done to get this thing connected as a wireless printer so my kids can do their school reports, etc.???

Lost in San Antonio,
Thanks!

If your PC with Printer service use a dual boot, you need configure others PCs, clients, with two printer. One for samba-printer (to windows XP) and other to CUPS (Common Unix Printing Service), using IPS://
The best solution is put the printer service on one PC which always use linux or windows, a unique system. You can use CUP to share a printer to others unix/linux machines and windows machines.

Can you help with this problem?
