vpn applet will not show up

Asked by oneadvent

I installed VPN for the Network Manager, but it does not show up when I left click on the icon. if I type

nm-vpn-properties --import-service org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.ppp_starter --import-file %f

in a terminal, I can add the connections, but not connect. I would be satified if I could just have a command line to connect to the VPN. I am trying to set this laptop up for my company, so someone can VPN in and work from a remote desktop.

In a related problem I cannot get limewire to run when I click on it in the menu. I am not sure what is wrong. (He is the boss's son, so he gets limewire, lol) It will however run if I type limewire in the terminal.

I am not sure what other information I can give. I have looked at the forums for the last two days, and I am about to pull my hair out.
If I need to add anything let me know.

BTW, I am running 7.04 on a Dell Latitude Laptop.

It turns out that after the recent software updates it showed up.

I did not do anything out of the ordinary, so I can be of no help to others on the subject.
