Bluetooth on my Dell Inspiron Mini 9 will not work atall

I have tried without success to activat Blue tooth on my Dell inspiron mini 9. As a last resort I have unistalled the b'tooth packages. Could any one tell me where to get software which WILL work? Living in hope!
The system will not see any form of 'phone or mouse and the devices cannot find the computer.

I don't think it will be a problem with the software.

Short/Technical Answer:
I would suggest that it is a hardware problem. If you have access to a different bluetooth adapter, then I suggest you try that, if not, i'd have a google around and see if there is a linux driver for the bluetooth adapter you are using.

Long/Simple Answer:
I think this is probably a problem with the adapter you are using, and that it isn't compatible with Ubuntu. You might want to try bluetooth with a different adapter. If you don't have another adapter, you might want to search around on the web and see if there is a "Linux Driver" for your adapter. I would search it myself but I don't know what adapter you have.

If you un-installed the bluetooth software and you want it back you can goto Applications> Accessories> Terminal and type:
sudo apt-get install bluez

I might be wrong with my answer, but from the information given it makes sense.
