No vertical scrolling bar in gedit text editor

"Vertical scrolling bar" feature does not seem to be an option in the gedit text editor provided in Ubuntu 9.04. Is this the case or am I doing something wrong?

Your terminal auto-wraps as you type. This makes a vertical scrolling bar un-necessary.
