Fully restoring original Ubuntu theme

Asked by Janne Hyötylä

How can I completely restore the original Ubuntu Jaunty theme and related GUI settings, i.e.:
* GDM theme
* Ubuntu Gnome colors, fonts, icons

The reason I'm asking is because I was using a third-party theme for some while which changed all of the mentioned things. Now I wanted to switch back to the default and ran the uninstall-script provided with the 3rd party theme. But this script seemed to restore all things to the GNOME (not Ubuntu) default.

Now I'm wondering how to get the Ubuntu defaults back.

Hmmm strange question but ill help.
system>admin>login window
To change the login screen back just select human from the list in the local tab
right click on the desktop and select change desktop background. From here you can change the background.
Then select the theme tab in the same window. Then select human.
Then select fonts and select sans all the way down.

Hope that helps
Shane

Hey, I do the following to reset my settings back to default:

rm -rf .gnome .gnome2 .gconf .gconfd .metacity
