Hello,

I don't know if QQ for linux is safe, but you can extract the files of a .deb with : dpkg-deb -x

Try to check all the binary files with an antivirus (like bitdefender personnal for Linux) or send it to a website that it can check the files.

Another way is to install the deb package and audit your system via tcpdump or system monitoring tools but as skype for example, if the network traffic is crypt, it will not very easy.

Good luck

Could run a virtualbox with xubuntu / moonos etc and test to see what goes on. Deny the system no access to the host machine and test away.

Now what if I want to run a program that I know has malware. I want to run Thunder, a chinese downloading programing. It works kind of like bittorrent except people can't limit the bandwidth. So when I download something using thunder it is very fast. So how can I deny access to the host? and then I still have the problem of getting the new downloaded file into my host.
