Hi Gracey,

You've asked your question on a support tracker intended for the users of the Ubuntu Linux operating system. You do need a wireless network card in order to connect to a wireless network. The question, however, is whether you have a wireless network card. It has been a while since I used Windows however, you should be able to find this information by going to the Device Manager:

1) Open the start menu.
2) Type Device Manager in the search bar at the bottom of the start menu
3) Open Device Manager
4) If you have a wireless card it should be listed under "Network adapters" (you may have to expand the network device list by clicking on the + next to "network adapters)

If you see a wireless card located there, then you have one. If you see a yellow question mark under that list then you have a card but the driver isn't installed.

I hope these directions help you, but I would encourage you to direct further support request to a venue that is intended for Window's users.
