[RESOLVED]Graphics and buttons problems in openoffice.org due to Nvidia 180 Graphics Driver.

Everytime I have this driver on my installation of openoffice works in a wierd manner. Some buttons on the tool bar disapear untill you hover over them. Text disapears and comes back after you scroll up and down. My graphics card is nVidia Corporation GeForce 8400M GS. I'm running a 32 bit version of Ubuntu.

I've had to switch to the 175 version (the older version of the driver) to make it work. It works with it fine.

You can download a working driver from nvidia.com then in terminal enter sudo init 1 then chose drop to console or root shell. then type sh /YOUR PATH TO DOWNLOADED DRIVER/THE FILE NAME

I found another problem with the 175 driver. It makes Firefox run really slow. So slow it's unberable to scroll down a single web page. :/

Try disabling smooth scrolling, if on (Edit > Preferences > Advanced > General). This can sometimes speed up firefox scrolling

I tried restarting my compute twice and enabled the 173 driver and firefox is working back again. I have it with normal desktop effects because before it was working with the heavy effects.
