Yes Name Organization Address City State Zip code Country Phone numberw/Area code everything just like they asked for. Shipit sucks:(
Created another one also, expect same results! No reason to expect anything different. Ubuntu should provide cd's them selves if they want to send them out free.

I'm sorry, David. If you'd like the same things you get from ShipIt, though, you can simply download the .iso image to your desktop, and burn it to a CD, and voila! You have a LiveCD to install from. :-)

David, Bryan Basil's suggestion to download the disc may be your best option. If you have broadband access (and I assume you do) you will have an installation disc in just a few minutes. I recommend burning it to a 700 MB CD-RW; when the next version is introduced in October, merely erase this disc, then download and burn that new version to this same disc. Or, you can attempt the network upgrade; it worked fine for me but DON'T do it during the first week or two after the new version is released. The servers are jammed with requests. It's better to wait a week or two.

I really don't understand why you are having such a problem; I myself easily created my account with them a year ago and I have had the discs since Hardy shipped to me with no problems at all. Could there be some difficulty with your ISP?

I hope someone from Launchpad (or, even better, Canonical) reads of your difficulty and is able to help you.

I am answering this as a fellow user.... I do not work for Ubuntu/Canonical.

You can BUY an Ubuntu 9.04 CD for US$3.20 shipped at www.osdisc.com
You can BUY it from www.cheapbytes.com for like $6 shipped.

I used to use cheapbytes back when Pink Tie Linux was popular and they were fairly reliable.
I dont know about osdisc.com because I never used them.

Its great that Canonical offers Ubuntu discs for free.... but they do point out that it might take weeks to ship it, etc...

Thank you all for the help. I give it just doesn't work and truthfully it isn't worth the effort. I will simply get a new power supply for my other pc which has ubuntu 9.04 on it.

Thank you so very much Rachel Tripp.:)

You could buy a DVD from the ubuntu store, it costs a little, but it's more likely that you'll get it.
