Totem Starts Automatically Every Session

Asked by Stu Hood

Every time I start a new session (from the Login screen), Totem starts up in maximized mode automatically. I don't have it in the Startup Programs tab in the Sessions manager.

When I go to the Current Session tab, it shows:

> totem --sm-config-prefix /totem-BJS2bP/

Any idea why it is starting up automatically?

You just said it: it's in your session. Totem is session-aware and thus
will appear in the session tab and not in the startup programs tab.

Your hint helped me solve the problem =)

I must have had "Automatically Save Changes to Session" checked at some point when I logged out, and so it recorded Totem as being open.

To fix it, I checked "Automatically Save...", made sure everything I didn't want to open automatically was closed, and then logged out. Then I logged in and turned "Auto Save..." off again.
