ubuntu-9.04-netbook-remix-i386.img

Asked by AFiechter

- Hashtest ok.

- Image file copied with "win32-image-writer" on USB-stick.

- Booting on Samsung NC-10 works (live CD as well).

- But "Check disc for defects" yields: Check finished: errors found in 1 file!

- Installing of Ubuntu ends after a while with corresponding error indication.

- Procedure repeated with down-loading from different sources (one from UK,
two from Germany), USB-sticks changed es well. Result always same.

Hi!
I had the same problem. Before copying an image file to your usb flash drive, try to format it. Hope it'll work! :)

PS on my eeePC701 ubuntu-9.04-netbook-remix worked much worse, than ubuntu 9.04 does...

I did format the USB-sticks before copying.

Can you tell us what is the error for the installation?

Installing is abandoned with the indication that a CD reading error occurred.
"CD" is, of course, not correct as the storage device is a USB-stick.

Live CD runs absolutely without problems.

Solution found. Start live CD first. In there is an installer available which can do the same and works without producing an error as described above.
