installing gnash amd64

Hi

I am having problems installing gnash. I am using Ubuntu7.10 and when I try to install gnash from add remove programs. I am getting error message "Gnash SWF viewer cannot be installed on your computer type (AMD64). Anyone know how to rectify this problem.

Update ubuntu. Newer versions of ubuntu have gnash for AMD64.
Either go to the update manager and hit install 8.04 or sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Unfortunately I only have dial up so upgrading might take too long to download. I might see if they have a 8.04 disk at the library. Thanks for helping anyway.

If they don't have it, I may send it to you, I still have the original 8.04. However the updates to 8.04.2 will be huge.
