Installation failure

Hi I am trying to install the power pc version of Ubuntu 6.06 on a Power Mac G4. I have tried both the DVD and live CD. With the Live CD I get the following error; System Exception: IDL: omg.org/Cobra/COMM_FAILURE: 1.0. Also I was wondering the exact day that support will end for 6.06? I assume it is getting close. I have become a huge fan of Ubuntu. I have recently convinced my brother to switch to Ubuntu he is also now a fan.

Hello, Layne. :-)

Dapper's end-of-life will be next month, sometime, for the desktop edition, and 2011 for the server edition.

As for your question, since I am not using Mac hardware, I Googled it, and found this thread on Ubuntu forums, which should help immensely:
