Adobe Flash Plugin - Installation Problem

Asked by anonri

I just made the switch to Ubuntu Netbook Remix OS and I am trying to install Adobe Flash Player (v10), but I keep getting the following error message:

Error: Dependency is not satisfiable: libcurl3

What can I do to successfully install this plugin?

Thank you very much for you assistance!

Hello,
I'm using Ubuntu 8.04, have the Firefox 3.0.12 browser installed, and am also trying to install the Adobe Flash Player 10 plugin. I downloaded the package "install_flash_player_10_linux.deb" from adobe.com and tried twice to install it using the graphic interface. Despite getting messages each time that the installation had been successful, the Flash plugin that shows up in my Firefox add-ons list continues to be v9. I tried the above advice of doing it from the terminal, using the command "sudo dpkg --install install_flash_player_10_linux.deb", which I got from the Linux install instructions on Adobe's website. I didn't get any error messages, but Firefox continues to have the v9 plugin installed. Being pretty much a layman, I suspect that I'm making some very basic, idiotic mistake here... Any help would be greatly appreciated.
