Installing Unbuntu 9.04

Asked by Dick Quinn

Following a suggestion I re-downloaded Unbuntu 9.04 (for 32 bit Windows Vista) and Unetbootin to my 2 GB flash drive.

I unzipped the Unetbootin files, again on the flash drive.

What do I do next ? When I clicked on what looked like the Unbuntu program file I got a message saying it isn't compatible with 32 bit ????!!!!

Can you Unbuntu guys make this any more confusing ? How about a straightforward download that one can easily install inside Windows ?

Need guidance ASAP.

Thanks...Dick Quinn

You can use wubi.
Download the .exe
http://www.ubuntulinux.org/getubuntu/downloadmirrors#wubi
Then you just enter in the required data and it installs inside windows

Hope that helps

Shane,
I downloaded the correct version but when I opened it I got a message saying
it was not a valid 32 bit application. I'm about ready to give up. What a
shame because I hear that Unbuntu is a great program.

Thanks for trying to help me.

Dick

What you can do is download a copy of the .iso file and burn a cd from the .iso file. ( do not just copy the .iso file onto the cd!)
the you can either boot from the cd and have a look around or install if you wish to do so, or you can put the cd in while in windows and make a choice from the menu that appears.

Hope that helps.
