Ubuntu karmic remix not working right

Asked by DByrns

Ok i downloaded the karmic remix for my hp mini netbook it has a 1.6 ghz intel atom prossecor, 2gigs of ram and runs windows xp home. any way downloaded and to my compaq presario pc used the windows image writer to write it to my 2gig dane-elec usb drive.

All went well and so i booted and the ubuntu came up showed the language screen, i chose english then the ubuntu logo came up with a statuse bar under it loading then it went to a screen that says this:

Loading, Please wait...
Segmentation fault

Busybox v1.10.2 (Ubuntu 1:1.10.2-2ubuntu7) built-in shell (ash)
Enter help for built-in commands.

(initramfs)

so i hope this is fixable or is there another version of the ubuntu remix that is better to use?

Karmic is still in development. For normal use you can download a copy of Jaunty UNR.
You'll find it here : http://releases.ubuntu.com/9.04/

For a even more stable ubuntu I'd recommend Ubuntu Intrepid Ibex.

What Johnneylee Rollins is correct, but for UNR (Ubuntu Netbook Remix) the Jaunty version is really much better.

I just tried installing Karmic Remix on my Macbook Pro and it got this grub-update error at the end of the installation process. When trying to boot it pops out with something about Busybox---says it can not find the disk.

Can you help with this problem?
