i am trying to install a hp deskjet f4200 series and it's not printing how do i install the printer correctly?

the computer is reading that the computer is there but won't let me fully install the printer so the printer can't tell that the computer wants it to print

Did you install a printer driver from HP or did you use the one via Synaptic?

With the printer switched on you could try in a terminal to type: hp-setup

Can you help with this problem?
