Massive subiquity failure with text installer for 22.04

Asked by Daemonarc

Hi!

New to the forums, glad to be here and contribute :-)

I am trying to install Ubuntu Server 22.04 LTS via the CLI installer. Right when the install is about to commence, I get:

subiquity/Early/apply_auto_install_config
subiquity/Reporting/apply_auto_install_config
subiquity/Error/apply_auto_install_config
subiquity/Userdata/apply_auto_install_config

subiquity/Late/apply_auto_install_config
Configuring apt
   curtin command in-target

Network connectivity should be fine (it managed to fetch a 227 kb file from the chosen archive)

Why does the above happen?

If I choose to see error messages on it, it only shows on-screen in a nano-second blink and then jumps to restart the installer, so I don't have a chance to see anything :-(

Hope someone knows how to get around this without too much fuss.

Kindest greetings.

I tried ditching everything related to LVM in the partitioning, same issue happens.

Turns out our storage manager was messing around with drive paths in VMWare while I was installing which suddenly turned my VM "blind" to the install image. He adjusted when he heard of the problem and it started working. Solved :-)
