You seem to be misunderstanding the situation.

Geforce are products from NVidia
Radeon are products from AMD

You cannot use Radeon drivers on a Geforce device.

If you are not satisfied with the Geforce drivers, then you can either switch to a generic driver (e.g. nouveau), or you have to replace the video adapter by a completely different product.

What I meant by Dumping the driver I am also removing the Video Card ! ! . . I got one in the waiting bin at Amazon just have to wait for Social Security to arrive Plus delivery of the board . . Being a user of Ubuntu since version 8.0 . . I know that using one driver for another board does not work . . So is ther a way to remove the driver just before shut down ( THEN install the new board and restart the computer )

Just uninstall the driver:

If you have installed the driver from a *.deb package, then uninstall or purge the package (with apt, synaptic or aptitude etc.)
If you have installed the driver from a file downloaded from the NVidia web pages, then you have to look there for information how to uninstall the driver.

In any case, having the driver available on the hard disk will not do any harm, because when you do not have suitable hardware, the driver will not be loaded.

Can you help with this problem?
