Not taking latest updates from Debian to noble numat LTS 24.04?

Asked by bastif

I'm maintaining a few packages on Debian. I recently updated them and they are in Debian unstable, but they don't enter Ubuntu noble, neither the proposed pocket of noble.

The freeze is only at the end of feb/2024 which is in about 2 weeks, so I'm surprised it doesn't get auto-sync-ed.

What is the reason behind this? Will this unlock soon?

Affected packages:
- php-codeigniter-framework (Ubuntu: 3.1.13+dfsg1-2u2 vs Debian 3.1.13+dfsg1-3)
- freefilesync (Ubuntu: 13.3-1 vs Debian 13.3-2)
- sphinxcontrib-phpdomain (Ubuntu: 0.11.2-2 vs Debian 0.11.2-3)
- google-android-installers (Ubuntu: 1695033340 vs Debian 1706036194)

I think there is some misunderstanding on my question. It doesnt' have anything to do with updating my system. It's about the update of package versions in the Ubuntu "archive" (the one referred to in sources.list)

noble = noble numbat = next Ubuntu LTS release 24.04

I mean, when a package that the maintainer has uploaded to the Debian archive (into the unstable distribution of Debian), it automatically enters Ubuntu universe archive (by going first through the 'propose' component).

For the 4 packages I maintain this process of automatic integration is apparently broken. Why?

1. Forget comment #1, that's an AI-generated nonsense.

2. There is no automatic immediate update of the version in the development release of Ubuntu, as soon as there is a new one in Debian. Usually there is a full scan before Debian import freeze, but if you want to make sure, that the new version of the packages you are responsible for is made available in ubuntu noble, then you can create bug reports, similar to Bug #2052781

Can you help with this problem?
