Can't install system (16) upgrade Packages

Asked by John F Bush

Cannot obtain lock:

E: dpkg was interrupted, you must manually run 'dpkg --configure -a' to correct the problem. When I tried to do that, I get a return message stating I must have supervisory privilege!

please enter the command as:

 sudo dpkg --configure -a

( it will ask your password, that is OK; it won't be show when typing it in; also OK )

SUDO runs the command as supervisor, so with all the rights to everything

Does this help?
