Ubuntu Unity 22.04LTS Can't change time zones

Asked by Jaime Cruz

I travel on vacation, taking my trusty Lenovo laptop with me when I do. I've discovered that I am unable to change the time zone from when the product was initially installed. I installed it in New York. I'm currently in Las Vegas (three hour time difference). Whenever I go into "Settings" to change the TZ to "Location: Las Vegas" the Time/Date display in the upper right hand corner does not change. When I open the Time/Date settings again, it has reset back to New York. This is VERY frustrating and never happened when Unity was the default desktop.

In a terminal, run:

sudo tzselect

Then follow the menu. Dead easy
